Job Description
Duties : (a) To organize and coordinate promotional activities for public markets, i.e. festive celebrations, roving exhibitions, thematic workshops and competitions targeting at stall tenants and market patrons; (b) To coordinate improvement works for selected public markets to enhance their vibrancies, i.e. consolidation of stalls to improve the market layout, etc. (including liaising with departmental offices concerned and other government departments); and (c) To assist in the preparation work on introducing service trade and light refreshment stalls into public markets. (Note: May need to work on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays depending on operational needs)
Terms of Appointment : Successful candidates will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for a period up to September 2010. Further employment may be offered subject to operational need of the Department and satisfactory performance and conduct of the staff. [Successful candidates would be required to report for duty at short notice.]
Requirements
Entry Requirements: (a) Holder of a local Higher Diploma, or equivalent; (b) Have met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in both Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent Note (i); (c) Minimum 3 years' post-qualification working experience in management and marketing / promotional / publicity work (working experience in the management of wet markets/superstores would be an edge); (d) Good command of both Chinese and English; (e) Good interpersonal skills; and (f) Computer application knowledge for preparation of reports and returns. [Notes: (i) For appointment purpose, 'Grade E' in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in previous HKCEE are accepted administratively as comparable to 'Level 2' in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.]
Remuneration
(Salary : HK$20,715 per month)
Fringe Benefits : Rest days, general holidays, annual leave, maternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.
