Job Description
Reporting to the New Product Development Manager, the Project Engineer will: - Have end-to-end responsibility for a project from conception through to production.
- Provide technical support to Customers, Business Development Managers and Manufacturing.
Requirements
- A Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering with experience to enable effective appreciation of the customer’s requirements and the environment in which the solution will be required to operate.
- Have strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills, including: Effective listening skills, constructive questioning skills and the ability to think beyond the boundaries and challenge the status-quo.
- Be conversant with the plastic injection moulding process and have experience in the design of moulded components and assemblies.
- Have experience of using analytical techniques for example Moldflow and FEA analysis to demonstrate that a solution will work prior to committing to manufacture of prototypes or tooling.
- Have proven recent experience of designing complex assemblies within a 3D-design package (preferably Mechanical Desktop, Pro Engineer or SolidWorks).
- Have experience of managing projects and are familiar with using project plans, issue and risk management and change control.
- Have excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with customers, technical and non-technical disciplines, production personnel and executives, both internal and external.
- Display a positive attitude towards the customer.
- Domestic and international travel as be required with the potential of multiple overnight stays and weekend and evening disruption.
- Have technical fluency in English and Mandarin, minimum TOEFL 575, IELTS 6.5.
Remuneration
Based: Knaresborough Salary: £14,500 pro rata per annum depending on length of internship Start date: April 2010 Duration: 50 weeks
